In the winter season, people celebrated Christmas festival with full fervor there is a public holiday on Christmas day and all the people enjoy this cultural holiday, all the colleges, universities, schools are closed on this day.Before Christmas festival, people started preparation of this festival with enthusiasm and it is a special day for all the people. Christmas day is celebrated all over the world by the name of feast day; this day is especially celebrated to give respect and honor to the birth of Jesus Christ.
This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ. People believe that Jesus Christ is to be the son of god so Christmas day is celebrated all over the world on 25th December. People go to church for the celebration of this festival. People exchange gifts with each other. People distributing gifts at midnight because they believe that Santa Clause comes to their homes for the distribution of gifts.
On this special day, children wait for funny gifts distributed by Santa Clause. People also exchange gifts chocolates, greeting cards and decorative things to all family members.
People usually start preparation of this Christmas festival at the beginning of the month. People believe that God sent Santa clause to earth to save mankind. On this special day, people sing songs, and pray to god to remove all their sufferings, and confess their sins many people decorate the tree in the middle of the house with a variety of items such as chocolates, lights, birds, dolls and more.
People have the preparation of feast on this special day and invite all their friends and enjoy together. People served a lot of delicious items to guests and they enjoy music and dance together. People exchange gifts with each other. Children and youth wear new clothes on this auspicious day. People decorate their homes with hanging walls. There are lots of rush of people in various places, especially in sweet shops. People light candles’ in their home on this auspicious day.
It is fact that traditional festivals are disappearing from the society day by day so; it has the bad impact on the society. Due to globalization, people have more tendencies to new technology rather than to learn about the real cause of celebrating festivals.
Due to globalization youth have more interest in internet and satellite TV channel. So it is a duty of Parents as well as school authorities to develop a sense of respect for traditional festivals and also develops adherence for their own culture in children.
Every country has own traditional occasion and events. If we build up a sense of patriotism and respect for the culture of our country it means that we save our cultural identity. The government and parents should give knowledge to younger students about the real story behind celebrating traditional festivals. Children do not forget past history, tradition, and culture if there are more chapters of traditional culture and festivals in an academic syllabus of students and as a result, they are more dedicated to their cultural identity.
